AARWBA tab champs, regular season leaders


Drag racing champions Tony Schumacher, Cruz Pedregon, Jeg Coughlin Jr., and Spencer Massey are listed alongside regular season points leaders Tim Wilkerson and Greg Anderson on the drag racing portion of the 2008 American Auto Racing Writers & Broadcasters Association (AARWBA) 39th annual All-America Team ballot. Frank Manzo and Laurie Cannister also are included as At Large nominees.

Dodgers legend Lasorda visits longtime fan Hight

 
Robert Hight didn't have the dream season he had hoped in his Auto Club of Southern California Ford Mustang, ultimately finishing fourth overall, but the lifelong Dodgers fan experienced the ultimate baseball highlight as Dodgers legend Tommy Lasorda was on hand to give his team a post-season pep talk.

Neff named top rookie, champs crowned

 
Tony Schumacher headlined the four drivers crowned Monday evening in Los Angeles. Three other champions -- Cruz Pedregon, Jeg Coughlin and Eddie Krawiec -- also were presented checks and trophies for their achievements, while Funny Car pro Mike Neff took Rookie of the Year honors.
