The remnants of Hurricane Hanna moved into New England Saturday, setting the fields for the Amalie Oil North American Nationals a little earlier then expected. After two rounds of qualifying, Bruce Litton, Matt Hagan, Mike Castellana, Paul Noakes, and Pete Berner were top qualifiers in their respective classes as the race turns to eliminations.

FIA European Finals remain on hold in England
The second day of professional qualifying for the season-ending FIA European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway in England has been washed out by more rain Saturday, leaving the gathered racers with zero racing action in the books. They will try again Sunday, weather permitting, with a yet-to-be-determined schedule of events.
Friday qualifying usually doesn't change the championship chases much but Friday night in Epping, N.H., was an exception as Pete Berner managed to move to the front of Pro Stock. Bruce Litton, Matt Hagan, Mike Castellana (pictured), and Neil Parker also used Friday's lone session to improve their standing at the IHRA's penultimate race.

Blogging: Force checks in with Hall of Fame hilarity
Funny Car super hero John Force recently got inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America. Of course, the night was full of wonderful Force moments, including a run-in with fellow inductee Michael Andretti, whom the 14-time world champion had awkwardly crossed paths with many years ago.
